| A Message From the Project Consultant
"See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland." Isaiah 43:19 (NIV) Don't you just love it when God does a "new thing?" God has done so many new things in my life in my ten years as a pregnancy resource center director, both professionally and personally. I continue to be amazed as I watch God do "new things." How we rejoice that the God of the universe who stands steadfast and whose character never changes, is in the business of "new things"--always refining and bringing His "new things" to His creation! I watched the Dallas Pregnancy Resource Center go through the growing pains that many of you have experienced as directors. One change that stretched me beyond my human limits was moving from a small budget operation to two facilities, both with full-time medical clinics. Like you, I have walked through many deserts and wastelands in the course of serving as the leader of a pregnancy resource ministry. But through it all God has used these experiences to do His incredible Kingdom work. Option Ultrasound- God's "New Thing" I hope by now all of you have heard about the exciting "new thing" that God is doing in the pregnancy center movement. If you haven't heard about Focus on the Family's "Option Ultrasound" ™ endeavor, you can read the details on the Pregnancy Resource Ministry Web site at www.heartlink.org For me personally, joining the Focus on the Family team as a consultant for Option Ultrasound ™ is an awesome "new thing." Once again, we will stand in awe as we watch God orchestrate the necessary details. What if My Center Wants to Participate? I'm sure many of you have questions concerning the details of this project. I know from my own experience that adding medical services is a process. There are several things you and your board should consider before you make the commitment to become a medical clinic. For this reason, Focus on the Family has developed a Ministry Profile for Option Ultrasound. This profile will help us become better acquainted with you and your ministry. Once the form is completed, we will be in touch. "Medical" is Not for Every Center! Please understand that not all PRC's are designed to house medical services. The support and healing pregnancy centers offer services just as vital to this movement as the medical clinics. The development of Option Ultrasound simply allows Focus on the Family to provide the same quality of service to centers seeking to add medical services that we have always provided to pregnancy resource centers. We will continue to undergird all pregnancy center ministries with up to date resources and personal encouragement. I am excited to see how the Lord will work out the details of this program and I hope to be talking to and meeting with many of you in the near future!
