Welcome to Focus on the Family's Option Ultrasound™ Program! We want to inform you of changes in the Regional Information Meetings.

We received great feedback from all of you, and the changes made to the Regional Information Meetings will better serve your needs by providing more specific training in key areas. The most significant change is that your Option Ultrasound Application Form must be completed and submitted prior to attending a Regional Information Meeting.

Please review the criteria below, as well as the meeting dates in order to plan accordingly for your attendance.

CRITERIA

Class I (PRC should be ready to receive grant approval in 0-4 months)

• Currently providing medical services –OUP grant request for replacement machine(s)/additional RN training(s) to expand services
• Medical conversion plan generally completed (Option Ultrasound team will determine)
• Annual budget/income of $75,000 or higher currently in place (Option Ultrasound team will determine
• Medical services during the majority of hours open (We may need to reword this since some centers are only open 12-15 hours/week. Do we dare say “medical services offered a minimum of 20 hours/week?)
• California centers that have already applied to the state for licensure and are waiting for the county site visit

Class II (PRC should be ready to receive grant approval in 4-6 months) Note, you may wan to continue bullets in Class II and Class III for clarity purposes.

• Completed primary components of the medical conversion process (i.e., medical director and nurse manager secured, training for medical staff scheduled, office space for exam room ready or being renovated, P&P manual in process, etc.)
• Alternatives Group training scheduled, if needed (income/budget needs improvement)
• If center is completing NIFLA's “The Life Choice” Project, hand off to Option Ultrasound Site Representative scheduled

Class III (PRC should be ready to receive grant approval in 6+ months)

• Board has voted and approved decision to convert to medical clinic status
• No medical conversion team or plan in place
• Budget growth needed–strategic plan being built to generate higher income
