Heaven Sent

Reaching women seeking an abortion with a pro-life message is a difficult task for every pregnancy resource center. Crisis counseling and free pregnancy tests worked for 20 years, but not anymore.

"It was apparent the time had come to innovate, and that meant transforming our pregnancy center into a medical clinic offering ultrasound services," said Toby DeBause, President of The Keim Centers of Norfolk, Virginia. "We knew that was a daunting task. We wrestled with the tough questions: 'Are we ready?' 'How do we start?' 'How do we pay for it?'"

Focus on the Family's Option Ultrasound Program (OUP) covered most of the costs of the ultrasound machine, and helped the center's staff prepare for the transition to a medical clinic, with phenomenal results.

"Since the conversion three years ago, the number of women served annually has more than doubled," DeBause said. "Christ's Gospel has been extended further, more lives have been saved and more hearts have been spared from abortion. OUP was heaven sent!"
