Awakening to Life
We have five locations in greater Portland, and each one has received an ultrasound machine from Focus on the Family's Option Ultrasound Program. As a result, last year we performed ultrasound exams for 1,700 abortion-vulnerable women, and of those, 1,600 women chose to give birth.
Our compassionate, professionally trained nurses, combined with ultrasound, educate and empower girls and women to make fully informed decisions about their pregnancy, awakening them from the deadening, dehumanizing voices that have confused our culture about the full humanity of the pre-born.
Nancy Vestigo, PRC's nurse manager: "The digital ultrasound machines have radically changed our ability to show life to our clients. We can go back and forth, in actual time or slow motion, replaying the scenes until the client actually sees what their baby was doing or what their baby looks like. We often see tears of joy, laughter and amazement. Others become quiet, reflective, as they realize they're seeing a person, and not just 'tissue,' as others have told them."
