Option Ultrasound Grants Transform Southern California Clinics
California's abortion statistics are staggering. More than 212,000 abortions are performed each year — more than any other state. In order to reach abortion vulnerable women in our community, we need to first get them through our doors. But our abortion minded competitors are well funded and well known.
That's why we are so grateful to Focus on the Family for their Option Ultrasound Program grants and Impact Training. With their help, we've been able to transform our pregnancy resource centers (PRCs) into fully licensed medical clinics and the results are astounding. By offering ultrasounds, STD screening, and other limited medical services, demand for our services has grown from less then 1,000 visits a year in our PRCs, to more than 21,000 since we converted to four licensed medical clinics in 2006, and we're set to open our fifth clinic in Los Angeles County in January 2009.
Historically only 30% of our abortion minded women changed their mind. However, by introducing women to their babies through ultrasound, more than 72% of them choose life. This exponential growth could be overwhelming, but thanks to Impact Training we were prepared. From strengthening our business and marketing practices, to enhancing our traditional services including promoting abstinence and adoption, Birth Choice Health Clinics are reaching new levels of excellence in everything we do.
I can't thank Focus on the Family enough for their partnership and support. With their help we've been able to save more than 943 babies in less then two years and offer our services to more abortion vulnerable women than we ever have dreamed.
