Implementation- A Board Responsibility
When an all-volunteer organization takes on a new project or plan, it will be the Board's responsibility to implement that plan. For example, if a center decides to take on a new abstinence education program, choosing or developing the program and curriculum, getting it into the schools and expanding fundraising to hire needed personnel will be the responsibility of the center's board members. Eventually, as the staff is hired and developed, they will take on more and more of the tasks; however, getting the program implemented will be the responsibility of the board. Unmet goals and missions not achieved should be a reason for the board to reexamine their plan. Maybe there needs to be more staff hired or maybe a budget increase is necessary.
