Examples of Policies for Pregnancy Centers

Written policies should reflect the overall character of the organization.
Example: This pregnancy center is committed to giving information that is factual and accurate in a loving, caring non-judgmental way. The center never gives misleading information, nor do we use “scare tactics.” Written policies should reflect personnel guidelines.
Example: This pregnancy center shall recruit, hire, train, promote, and discharge employees on the basis of willingness, commitment, ability, and without regard to race, color, age, sex, national origin and/or disability. Written policies should reflect information about client services.
Example: Client information may be released only with the client’s written permission as given on a release of information form, unless otherwise required by law. Written policies concerning finances should be detailed.
Example: The center’s funds will only be deposited in a bank whose social and investment policy is acceptable to the organization. Written policies concerning board rules should be available.
Example: Any member who has three unexcused absences from Board meetings will forfeit his/her position on the Board. A letter will be sent from the Chairman of the Board as soon as possible after the 3rd missed meeting, thanking the member for his/her service to the organization.
