A Case for Life
Contrary to Roe v. Wade, the 1973 case which devalued life and legalized abortion in the U.S., Genesis 1:27 indicates that life is created and has value. “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.”

The word ‘created,’is used three times for emphasis and indicates life is a gift given by God. Humans are also made in His image. Because each person is created, each has a purpose, and must be protected.

President George Bush agrees, “We share a great goal, to work toward a day when every child is welcomed in life and protected, must be protected in law…to build a culture of life, affirming that every person at every stage and season of life, is created equal in God’s image.”

Is Life Created at Conception?
Lies about not only if life is created but when it’s created has perpetuated the horrors of abortion. Many people argue that life does not begin at conception, therefore, the natural assumption is that it’s okay to terminate a pregnancy. But, even the owner of Oregon’s largest abortion clinic testified under oath of the truth, “Of course human life begins at conception.”

An honest and thorough survey of scientific evidence will lead to an identical confession. Randy Alcorn writes in his book, Why Pro-Life?, “It’s an indisputable scientific fact that each and every surgical abortion in America stops a beating heart.”

Proof with Ultrasound
With the advent of ultrasound, a baby’s beating heart, lungs, fingers and toes can be viewed and life’s development can be monitored, as if a woman’s womb had a window.

In Psalm 139, David, through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, was allowed to take a peek into God’s prenatal care unit, as if looking through this window.

“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”

The “you” in verse three is emphatic—“You created.” As the owner and Intelliegent Designer of the preborn, God is intimately involved with us because he made us. His constant concern is simply the natural interest that a creator would have in a very special product.

More Amazing Proof
In 1999, an unborn child named Samuel underwent surgery for spina bifida. Samuel’s photograph captured the world’s attention when published in Life magazine. During surgery, Samuel reached out and grabbed the surgeon’s finger. Photojournalist Micheal Clancy went from being pro-abortion to pro-choice as he witnessed this procedure and recorded it with his camera. “I was totally in shock for two hours after the surgery…I know abortion is wrong now—it [abortion] is totally wrong.”

In another award-winning photo, a preborn baby named Sarah Marie Switzer underwent a similar procedure. Referred to as “the worlds most pro-life photo,” it’s more evidence that God is the Creator of life.
