| The Internet and Your Clients
Just in case there remains any question in your mind as to the quintessential role played by the Internet in the lives of your clients and prospective clients, let me share with you the following information from the Kaiser Daily Reproductive Report, December 12, 2001. "Forty-four percent of teens and young adults have accessed sexual health information online, a Kaiser Family Foundation study released yesterday found, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. The study, entitled Generation Rx.com: How Young People Use the Internet, found that the 15- to 24-year-olds surveyed reported using the Internet to get information about birth control, pregnancy, HIV/AIDS and other STDs (Katz, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, 12/12). The telephone survey solicited responses from 1,209 randomly selected teens and young adults about health care information and the Internet (Jesdanun, AP/Nando Times, 12/11). Replacing the encyclopedia and medical reference books, the Internet is now a "key source" of health information for young people, the study found." We've shared important information in this issue of HeartLink about how your center can have a good, effective Web site, one that can and will be an increasingly important tool in encouraging clients to visit your center. Please don't dismiss it, thinking: Our center is too small; we could never do that. Our God is God even over the Internet! And if His plan for your center includes a Web site, He can and will bring that about as you look to and trust Him. Have you asked Him about it?
