Twenty-one year old Sabrina found LifeCare Pregnancy Center in the phonebook and came in for a pregnancy test, then met with a client advocate and shared her story. She was living with her boyfriend, was the mother of a set of twins and a three year old, had lost her job and had a recent abortion. Sabrina shared with her advocate that she came to our clinic because she wanted to know how far along she was so she could see about having an abortion. She was given a pregnancy test, and based on Sabrina's recollection of when her last menstrual period had been, they estimated that she was about 12 weeks along. Her advocate gave her information about abortion risks and procedures and offered Sabrina a free ultrasound.

Sabrina and her mother returned several days later to have her ultrasound. During the ultrasound, her mother came running out of the room, obviously upset, saying that during the ultrasound, she found out her daughter was carrying another set of twins. She said she almost fainted at the sight. Our hearts broke as we realized not just one life might be taken away, but now two! As they left, we encouraged them to come back or call us before they made a decision. We called them several times to see how they were doing, but no answer.

A few weeks later, Sabrina called us to ask if we could give her two car seats. She said she had decided to carry the babies to term! Seeing her twins on the ultrasound had convinced her; she could not go through with the abortion. We told her we would be glad to give her two car seats so that she could take her babies home from the hospital safely. She thanked us for all of our help, and said she would let us know when she found out the gender of the babies at her next doctor’s appointment. To God be the glory, great things he hath done!

As a follow-up, Sabrina and her boyfriend are now married and their beautiful twin girls, Julianna and Jordyn, were born the second week of November 2008!
