Christian is really a true gift from God. He was surely unplanned and wasn't supposed to be here today because I planned to abort him when I found out I was pregnant. I went to Hope early in my pregnancy. After the positive pregnancy test, the counselor encouraged me to consider all of my options. When I saw his little smiling face on the ultrasound picture, I knew it was going to be hard to live with the idea of ending his life. I didn't know how I could go through with the pregnancy, but my counselor assured me that Hope would stand behind me and help me, and in the end, I decided not to have an abortion.

At first, I decided to place my baby for adoption, but as I got further along, I decided to parent him. When I look at Christian today, I know I would have really regretted not giving him the gift of life.

I love and cherish him so much; he is my heart's JOY, and I am truly blessed to be his mother. I thank Hope Women's Centers for encouraging and equipping me to choose life for Christian. They also reached out to Christian's father and talked to us about providing a secure family for our children. His father has been very supportive and is so happy to be involved in Christian's life. We are getting the counseling we need and are making plans to get married.
