Based on cumulative data from two primary sources of U.S. abortion statistics (Centers for Disease Control and Alan Guttmacher Institute), it's estimated that around one million abortions take place annually and more than 44 million abortions have been performed in the U.S. since 1973.

On January 22, 1973, the Supreme Court gave women the "right to choice." Choice assumes that there are options. Abortion is a decision that can never be taken back. It is important to understand the abortion "choice."
