What an Impact

Focus on the Family is committed to helping Pregnancy Resource Centers (PRCs) raise their standards of operational excellence and to increasing client outcomes for those clinics in high-abortion areas. The Focus on the Family I.M.P.A.C.T. Training™ is offered to leadership teams and board members of medical PRCs in high abortion areas on an invitation-only basis.

At the June 2007 I.M.P.A.C.T. Training in Orlando, 82 participants from representing 50 sites in 9 states were asked at the end of the conference what they had learned that would impact their ministry and make them more effective in achieving their mission. Here's a sampling of their responses, which are representative of the whole:

This seminar greatly enhances the ability of pregnancy center staff to operate their centers with professionalism and integrity. What else would you expect from Focus on the Family?

Elaine Ham, Pregnancy Care Ministries Associate
North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention

I now feel empowered to embrace without fear the unique calling on my life, my team, and my center to impact abortion-risk women to choose life.

Sue Parker, CEO, Life Choices
Memphis, TN

We need to make sure we clearly understand our mission. If we don't, we need to re-evaluate what we are doing and make changes to reflect our missino. The strategic planning segment was very helpful in defining a true mission.

Donna Davis, Director of Ministry Advancement
A Woman's Choice, Inc.
Lakeland, FL

Every woman’s needs are "worthy" to be met, but we cannot meet them all. Our mission is to empower women to make informed choices about their pregnancies. We must guard against mission drift.

Judy Weber, CEO
First Coast Women’s Services
Jacksonville, FL

As I looked at the overall client numbers compared to how many abortion-risk women we are seeing, I knew we had to change. Converting to a medical clinic was our first step. IMPACT is our next step in making us better. We want to make a strong impact in our community and with the women we serve. I believe the things I learned at IMPACT will help me do what I do better and more effectively – minister to more abortion – risk women.

Nancy Knowlton, ED
CPC of Cookeville, TN

When faced with all of the roadblocks, distractions and walls that are put in our way by the other side (the evil one) I was reminded that “This is our House” and if we persevere in the task at hand and keep the main thing the main thing, that we shall overcome and eventually defeat our enemies.

Roy Hatten, ED
Women's Help Center
Jacksonville, FL

Focus on the Family’s staff has great ideas and the tools to help PRC's to get from being just good to being great. This allows us to be on the leading edge of our movement in helping women make life-affirming decisions. Blessings!

Gina Hollenbeck, Dir of Clinic Services
Life Choices, Memphis, TN

I now feel empowered to embrace without fear the unique calling on my life, my team, and my center to impact abortion-risk women to choose life.

Sue Parker, CEO, Life Choices
Memphis, TN

I learned the difference between being intentional and having good intentions. I need to be intentional in strategic plans and accountability

As CEO I must move the DNA of this ministry from my heart, soul and mind through the Executive Team, Board, all staff and volunteers, always making sure that all "own" this ministry.

Lenna Neill, CEO, Piedmont Women’s Center
and Option Ultrasound Site Rep
Greenville, SC

"Watch for mission creep" – I have "tried everything once" over 12 years and learned how easy it is to allow us to drift away from the "main thing." This conference has helped equip us to stay focused for maximum impact. Thank you so much!

Cindy McDaniel, CEO,
Assurance Care for Women and Girls
Lexington, KY

New fresh, strategic, timely, critical, innovative, professional, motivational, AN UNEXPECTED BLESSING!

Pat Layton, CEO, A Woman’s Place Ministries
Tampa, FL

God is at work re-looking, revitalizing, reviving our mission to impact a client with love, hope, with the Gospel of Jesus Christ – the message of life.

Alison Thorsh, Ultrasound Tech
Pregnancy Resource Center
Douglasville, GA

You can’t improve what you can't measure. This was by far the most comprehensive, effective, powerful and impacting team building training we have ever been a part of. Thank you for helping us to keep the "main thing" the main thing! Thank you Focus!

Holly Duncan, CEO, Parkridge
Option Ultrasound™ site rep
Lubbock, TX

  • Culturally relevant – PRC will continually obtain awareness of community needs and strategically readjust its strategies to influence.
  • Trustworthy – Through the practice of all the above, the PRC is deemed worthy of confidence by the community, donors, clients, and national organizations.

All Pregnancy Medical Clinics in the Option Ultrasound Program provide limited obstetrical ultrasound as medically indicated. Clinics are licensed to operate under the supervision of a physician, using only trained sonographers. Focus on the Family does not endorse the use of ultrasound outside of a medical clinic setting and does not endorse the use of ultrasound for non-medical reasons. Patient referrals are made to physicians for follow-up diagnosis and care as needed.
